Start
Use the buttons to navigate along the timeline. The upper bar gives an example of a competitors times and the lower one is the SCT2000.
Preparation
Preparation time can vary but not excessively. It pretty much takes a fixed amount of time to get set up, locate the board and ready the testing equipment.
Identification
Once you have all the required equipment prepared and turned on you can begin to identify the line to test. These first few stages take around the same amount of time for both testers.
Planning
We now plan the test which involves coordinating with other departments to ensure the least interference.
Connection
Now we can connect the testing equipment to the line identified for testing. This is a standard process and so takes the same amount of time regardless of which testing equipment is used.
Testing
Testing the line takes a variable period and is identified in seconds. You will notice that the testing stage takes a little longer for the SCT. This is because the tester is actually doing a lot of the diagnostics internally.
Review
Once the test has been carried out you need to review the results and identify any areas of concern. The SCT displays the results of the tests in a tabulated format for easy review on the device screen.
Diagnostics
You diagnose the results and use them to locate any faults. Because the SCT works on the data whilst the test is being carried out, it does not need to use the processor to work out the results before displaying the required information on the screen, it just displays the results on demand.
Fault Finding
Now we have all the required information to carry out fault handing but look at the competition. They are still interpreting the results to make their diagnosis. Because the SCT displays the results in a user friendly manner, the technician is able to locate faults efficiently and get straight to the location of any faults found during testing.
SCT Finished
The SCT has finished doing it's test whilst the competitor is still trying to make sense of the results. Although the SCT takes longer to do the actual test it is much more efficient at processing the test data, enabling a faster finish time for each test carried out. The benefits get even better as you carry out more tests, saving around 3 minutes for each full test. This makes the testing of larger systems more efficient and less time consuming.
Competitor Finished
The competitor has finally finished doing it's test but our technician is already most of the way through their next test.
